More information on Microsoft's Bing Fund revealed

In March, we first reported on hints that Microsoft was going to launch a program designed to help start-up companies via their Bing division. Now it appears that more information on that program has come to light, including its official name, the Bing Fund.

Microsoft has already launched a teaser for their website called Bingfund.com. You can see the only image available on that page above. In addition, Microsoft"s jobs page has posted up that it is looking to hire a person to join the new program. The "designer" job describes the Bing Fund as " .... an Angel Incubator working with startups and accelerators to bring a wave of innovation to OSD."

The job listing adds, "The Bing Fund portfolio includes startups working on the web, desktop, mobile and console." It"s currently unknown at the moment if these startups will be required to integrate Microsoft"s Bing search and map service in some way in their products. The official announcement about Bing Fund could come later this month.

As we reported before, the person in charge of the Bing Fund is Rahul Sood, who started working at Microsoft in its Xbox division in December 2010. He is perhaps best known as the founder of VoodooPC. Founded in 1991, the company made high end gaming PCs. VoodooPC was later acquired by HP in September 2006. Sood worked for HP until 2010 when he went to join Microsoft.
