While the PS Vita"s sales may currently be tanking in Sony"s native Japan, the company clearly hopes the reaction to their next generation portable game console is different when it launches in the US and in Europe on Feburary 22. Today the official Sony Playstation blog site has revealed more information about the PS Vita launch bundles that will be available for US customers.
Back in October, Sony announced plans to release the PS Vita First Edition bundle which will have the 3G-WiFi version of the console, along with a limited edition case, a 4 GB memory card and the game Little Deviants for $349.99. Today Sony announced that the First Edition Bundle will be getting two more free extras.
One is a an AT&T DataConnect Pass good for one free 250MB session on AT&T"s 3G network. The other is a free, but currently unrevealed, downloadable Playstation Network game. As before the PS Vita First Edition Bundle will actually ship for pre-orders on February 15, one week before the console"s official launch date in the US.
Sony also announced today that those people who buy some of the first WiFi/3G PS Vitas in the US on February 22 will also get some extras. They include an 8 GB PS Vita Memory Card, an AT&T DataConnect Pass and a unnamed PlayStation Network game. The price for the WiFi/3G PS Vita will remain at $299.99 even with these launch day extras. Sony says this bundle deal should sell out quickly so if you really want a PS Vita and want to get some free stuff to go along with your console you might want to consider getting it early.
