More rumors on Amazon.com tablets emerge

Amazon.com"s head Jeff Bezos may be hinting strongly that the company behind the Kindle may be releasing a tablet product later this year. There"s no official word from Amazon.com that this this is actually happening, but that isn"t stopping the rumor mill from generating info about what will be inside the tablet, or as the case may be, tablets.

According Boy Genius Report, via unnamed sources, that says that Amazon.com will actually be releasing two tablet products sometime before the end of the year. Both will use Google Android as its operating system, according to the reports. The sources also say that the entry level tablet is code named Coyote, which will have Nvidia"s Tegra 2 dual core processor inside. However, a larger and more expensive Amazon tablet is in the works as well. According to the report, its code name is Hollywood and it will have the so far unreleased Nvidia T30 (or Kal-El) processor. That chip will be quad-core based and is supposed to be 500 percent faster than the current Tegra 2 processor. The story did not have info on the tablets" screen sizes nor any word on pricing.

Of course, Amazon.com has had a huge success with its Kindle e-Reader, proving that even in the age of tablets there are some people who still want a separate reading device. The big question: What will Amazon.com"s tablets, which Bezos has all but admitted the company is indeed working on, have that will break them away from the growing tablet pack?
