In June, Microsoft announced that it was once again starting up its "Smoked by Windows Phone" campaign, as the company tries to show other people that Windows Phone devices can perform common tasks faster than competing devices.
This week, Microsoft posted no less than four new two minute "Smoked by Windows Phone" videos on its official YouTube channel. There are also 30 second versions of each of those clips that serve as a teaser to the main videos. All of them feature Windows Phone"s most visible spokesperson Ben Rudolph as he challenges people in and around Seattle to smartphone speed contests.
In just one of the videos, shown above, Rudolph challenges a college student to post a message to a friend"s Facebook wall on her HTC Evo Shift faster that Rudolph can post a message to his wife on his Nokia Lumia 900. Naturally, Rudolph beats the cute college student thanks to Windows Phone"s live tiles that can be configured to link to a specific person.
While the student "loses" the Smoked by Windows Phone challenge, Rudolph still gives her a free Lumia 900. In fact, he also gives the college student"s friend, who didn"t even play in the challenge, a free Lumia 900 as well.
