Moto X contract price could be halved, wood backs coming too

If you’ve managed to hold out on a Moto X up until now, your patience could be rewarded. Rumors are abound that the phone will be dropping to $100 on contract, which is half its current price on AT&T and Verizon.

Potentially the most interesting Motorola handset of the past few years, the X is also well-known for its customization. Users can have their phone modified to suit their own tastes, and the rumor mill says the options will be increasing as well.

Twitter account @evleaks posted four new backplates for the Motorola X, all of which are different wood finishes. Wood has been hotly anticipated since it was shown at the handset’s launch. Coming to consumer devices could make a very unique selling point.

Despite all the excitement around these developments for Motorola’s phone, there is still no word of bringing the Motorola X to the European market. For now, it remains AT&T and Verizon exclusive, though shall come to other American networks; potentially at a lower price if leaks are to be believed.
