Moto X smartphones with Bamboo back plates can be customized and purchased using Moto Maker on the company"s official online store starting today.
The official Motorola blog has posted that the Moto X with the Bamboo back plate is now available and can be availed exclusively through the online store using the Moto Maker customization tool. Users can combine it with a contract from Verizon, AT&T and Sprint or get it unlocked. The post notes that stocks are limited and orders will be shipped by January.
Motorola launched the highly customizable Moto X smartphone earlier this year. At launch, the company supported colours and patterns with signature back plates and promised to introduce new designs in the future. The phone comes with a 4.7 inch 720p AMOLED display, X8 Motorola chipset that contains two dual-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processors, quad-core Adreno 320 GPU, 2 GB of RAM, 16 or 32 GB storage, 10 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front facing camera.
The Bamboo version of the Moto X costs an additional $100, made with real Bamboo it comes with two pattern/trim choices. The company mentions that AT&T and Verizon versions will have carrier branding, while the Sprint and unlocked versions won"t. Users can add a text signature to the back using Moto Maker as with other back plates.
