Last year, Lenovo introduced the Moto Z series that utilized a unique design, which could accommodate modular accessories called Moto Mods. The Moto Z Play offered great specifications, excellent battery life, and a great price.
A new leak courtesy of the folks at TechnoBuffalo gives us an early glimpse of the alleged successor, the Z2 Play. As we can see from the image, the handset looks very similar to its predecessor, offering a familiar design with minor variations to the fingerprint reader and other areas. The device still has the 16-pin connector on the bottom rear, a front-facing flash, and protruding camera hump. The Z2 Play also looks a bit thinner when compared to the current Z Play, which might indicate that the battery life might not be as long lasting compared to the original model.
Unfortunately, the image did not come with any other information like specifications or a release date. While the Moto Z and Moto Z Force made their debut at Lenovo Tech World last June, the Z Play was officially revealed in late August. Naturally, we will have to wait until the Z2 Play makes its official debut, and hope that it retains the excellent battery life and price of the first Z Play.
