Today, Motorola is announcing the One 5G, adding to its family of Android One devices. And being that most of the Motorola One devices have a sort of specialty, you can guess that this one"s is supposed to be 5G. Indeed, the promise here is to deliver 5G at a price point of under $500.
It"s powered by a Snapdragon 765 chipset, just like the Motorola Edge, although the Edge costs $699 (it originally launched with a deal for $499). The 5G supported is sub6-only on the AT&T model, and the Verizon variant will include support for the carrier"s Ultra Wideband network, meaning it will have both sub6 and mmWave.
The Motorola One 5G includes a quad rear camera, with the main sensor coming in at 48MP f/1.7, using quad pixel technology for 12MP images. There"s also an 8MP f/2.2 118-degree ultra-wide lens, a 2MP depth camera, and a 5MP macro camera. The macro camera actually has a light ring around it, so you won"t block the light when taking your close-up shot.
There are also dual front cameras, including a 16MP main sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide. That means that you can use the separate lens for group images, no selfie stick needed.
Aside from that, it comes with 4GB RAM and an impressive 5,000mAh battery, which Motorola says will get you multiple days of battery life. As you"d expect from a high-end Motorola device, it includes support for 15W TurboPower charging. It also comes with a 6.7-inch FHD+ 90Hz CinemaVision display, similar to what was found on the Edge.
Motorola says that the AT&T model is coming soon, and the Verizon model is coming later this year. More specific pricing is coming later.
