Last month, it was reported that Motorola was working on a new flagship handset dubbed Edge+ with a waterfall display and a 90Hz refresh rate. Today, courtesy of @evleaks, the first press photos of the Motorola Edge+ have leaked.
The press renders show off the punch-hole waterfall display of the device in all its glory. It also shows the massive camera hump at the rear which will include a primary 108MP shooter, as is evident from the moniker in the renders. The other two camera sensors include an 8MP telephoto module with 3x optical zoom and a 16MP ultra-wide angle shooter. Despite the waterfall display, Motorola has included physical volume rockers and a power button on the device. The company plans on launching the device in at least two colors: blue and burgundy.
Previous leaks point to the Motorola Edge+ coming with a Snapdragon 865 chip, 12GB RAM, and pack a 6.67-inch FHD+ 90Hz AMOLED panel. Other rumored specs include mmWave 5G connectivity and a 5,000mAh battery. The device will be available on Verizon"s network, though it is unclear if it will be an exclusive or not.
The Edge+ will be Motorola"s first flagship in quite a few years. The company"s last smartphone sporting Qualcomm"s flagship 8 series chipset was the Moto Z3 that was released in August 2018. Since then, Motorola has primarily focused on releasing mid-range smartphones as those have met with more success. The company is also working on a Snapdragon 765G variant of the Edge+ that will be simply called the Edge.
At the moment, it is unclear when Motorola plans on announcing these devices as their launch could have been possibly delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
