Motorola razr receives Android 10 update with new features for the external display

Motorola"s flip phone, the razr, initially debuted late last year with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. Those who have been waiting to update their foldable phone to the latest version of Android may be pleased to know that the company announced today the release of Android 10 for the razr.

The latest update introduces a bevy of new features for the handset"s secondary display called Quick View. These updates expand that display"s capabilities and make it compatible with more apps you use on a daily basis such as Google Maps, which now displays turn-by-turn navigation even when the phone is folded. You can also make a video call using the Quick View camera and access your favorite music apps like Spotify, YouTube Music, or Pandora all from the external display without having to unfold the razr. In addition, the Quick View display now lets you call your favorite contacts without opening your phone by swiping left (available only in the U.S. for now) or snap a selfie with a right swipe. Plus, the display now allows you to reply to text messages with a full keyboard or send a quick response with Smart Reply.

Finally, Motorola adds more customization options to Quick View with new themes, allowing you to change the icon shapes and colors. Android 10 is rolling out to the razr starting today.
