As more and more Windows 8 tablet products are released, we are beginning to see a variety of form factors for these tablet PCs. Today, Motorola Solutions announced they will launch their own Windows 8 tablet, but this one will be made for businesses and industrial customers.
Bloomberg reports that the rugged Windows 8 tablet will join a number of products from Motorola Solutions that already run versions of Microsoft"s Windows Embedded operating systems. Their Windows 8 tablet is still a long way off and it won"t be released until sometime in the second half of 2013 or 2014.
Motorola Solutions CEO Greg Brown said that apps that are being ported over to work with the embedded version of Windows 8 " ... is a big deal for this niche market. We’re as well-positioned as anybody, given the scale of the devices we have and the relationship we have with Microsoft."
Motorola Solutions spun off on its own in January 2011, a number of months before its sister company Motorola Mobility announced it would be acquired by Google.
