Today, Motorola announced that latest entry into its Moto Z lineup, the Moto Z3. Aside from the 5G Moto Mod that was announced alongside of it, the handset presents nothing new, combining elements of last year"s Moto Z2 Force and this year"s Moto Z3 Play.
It includes the same Snapdragon 835 chipset and dual 12-megapixel cameras as last year, and it has the glass back and 1080p 18:9 OLED display that we saw on the Z3 Play. With that in mind, you might have thought that Motorola would have a true flagship up its sleeve, which would be the Moto Z3 Force. After all, the Z3 is a Verizon exclusive, so it wouldn"t be far-fetched to hope that the firm has something planned for AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile.
It does not. Following today"s event, Motorola confirmed to Neowin that this is it for 2018. It"s not a true flagship by the market"s standards, but Motorola believes that the device will deliver more than enough performance for the average user.
The good news is that while the Moto Z3 contains year-old hardware, it only costs $480. This undercuts the Z3 Play by $20, although the Play comes with a battery Moto Mod.
