Motorola X + 1 leaked leather backplate options surface

The Motorola Moto X is one of the more unique flagship devices of 2013. Motorola chose a different approach when creating the device leveraging the experience rather than the specifications for its marketing push. While the Moto X wasn’t the most powerful or largest device on the market, it did have its unique features that made it stand out amongst other flagships. The Moto X took voice commands to a new level allowing users to simply speak in order to activate the device. The device also took the Android experience further by implementing a smarter lock screen with a cleaner almost stock experience.

But, what was most appealing about the Moto X was the ability to customize the device with Moto Maker. Moto Maker allowed users to customize the back, front, and accents with unique colors. Most crucial to the process was selecting a back plate. With the rumored release of a successor, the Moto X + 1, it looks like Motorola is hoping to capitalize on the momentum of Moto Maker.

According to Evleaks, Motorola will add new backplates to the Moto Maker service which will introduce the option for leather. The leather will come in four colors and will accompany the 25 total backplate options that will be available. A release date for the Moto X +1 has not been announced.
