It goes without saying, but plenty of new products and services get announced at CES each year. So it comes as no surprise that MSI is debuting a few new items, two of which are part of its new monitor line. The firm is expanding its Optix gaming monitor series with the new Optix MPG line that is making its first appearance at CES 2018.
As mentioned before, the range will consist of two monitors, both being 27-inch curved displays. While the exterior will look identical, it is the resolution of each that will differ, with the MPG27C being 1080p and the MPG27CQ being a 1440p model. Each will have a refresh rate of 144Hz and will also have a 1ms response time, and will use a VA panel with a 1800R curve.
The new MPG series monitors will also be the first to have SteelSeries GameSense integration. This will allow gamers to customize illumination effects to correspond with in-game events like cooldowns, timers, and Discord notifications. As far as ports go, the monitors will have two HDMI 2.0 ports, a DisplayPort 1.2 port, USB 3.0 Type B, 3.5mm headphone jack, Kensington Security Slot, microphone jack, and two USB Type A ports. The monitor will come standard with an adjustable stand and will also offer support for VESA mounting.
Unfortunately, pricing and availability were not announced. But more details should be made available at a later date.
