Intel recently introduced its 10th-generation desktop processors, known as the Comet Lake S family, with up to 5.3GHz turbo clocks and hyperthreading support for the entire Core lineup. Naturally, OEMs are jumping at the opportunity to use the latest and greatest hardware, and MSI has introduced the new Trident and Infinite families of desktop PCs. All of them feature Intel 10th-generation processors and Nvidia RTX graphics.
In the Trident lineup, there"s the Trident X, Trident A, and Trident 3. These PCs pack top-of-the-line specs into a console-like form factor, making them more suitable to use in a living room, for example. The Trident X, the range-topper, can be configured with up to an Intel Core i9-10900K and Nvidia RTX 2080 Super GPU. It has up to 64GB of RAM, two M.2 slots for SSD storage, and two 2.5-inch drive bays. The Trident A and Trident 3 take things down a notch, maxing out with a Core i7-10700 and an RTX 2060 Super, as well as only having one M.2 slot and one 2.5-inch drive bay.
As for the Infinite lineup, it comes in the form of the Infinite X, Infinite, and Infinite S. These have a more traditional desktop PC form factor, which allows for some more features. The Infinite X leads the pack with up to an Intel Core i9-10900K and Nvidia RTX 2080 Super, plus two M.2 slots, two 2.5-inch drive bays, one 3.5-inch drive bay, as well as four RAM slots supporting up to 128GB. The other two models max out with an Intel Core i7-10700 CPU and RTX 2060 Super graphics, plus a maximum of 64GB of RAM. They only have one M.2 slot, and the Trident S also has one less 2.5-inch drive bay.
All of these PCs will be available to buy at the end of May, but MSI didn"t say how much they will cost.
