Yesterday, Nvidia finally unveiled its next generation of graphics cards in the form of the GeForce RTX 30 series, headlined by the RTX 3080, which promises to double the performance of its direct predecessor at the same price. Naturally, PC manufacturers are following up that announcement by introducing new PCs with the new GPUs inside them.
MSI is one such manufacturer, who announced today that its MEG Aegis Ti5 desktop PC will now come with up to a GeForce RTX 3080, as well as Intel"s Comet Lake CPUs up to an Intel Core i9-10900K. Internally, the desktop is designed with what MSI calls Silent Storm Cooling, which means that heat-generating components like the CPU, GPU, PSU, and now, the VRM, all have individual cooling chambers so the heat from one component doesn"t interfere with the others.
Like the model introduced at CES, the Aegis Ti5 has a "gaming knob", which lets users quickly switch between performance modes without having to head into MSI"s Dragon Center software. It can also switch between RGB lighting modes, and it has an OLED panel that can display information such as the weather.
For the rest of the specs, you"re looking at up to 128GB of RAM, three M.2 SSD slots, two 2.5-inch drive bays and a 3.5-inch drive bay. There"s support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and plenty of ports - on the front, two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports, one USB 3,2 Gen2 Type-C port, and separate headphone and microphone jacks; on the back, five USB Type-A ports (two USB 2.0, three USB 3.2 Gen2), a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C port, one Thunderbolt 3 port, two Ethernet ports (one 2.5Gb, one 1Gb), plus surround sound and optical audio ports.
While MSI introduced the Aegis Ti5 at this year"s CES, it was supposed to come with up to an RTX 2080 Ti, and it doesn"t seem to be available yet. It would seem the company chose to hold out for the new GPUs instead. Pricing and availability for the Aegis Ti5 have yet to be revealed, however.
