It"s official – 2003 has been the year for the boys. Barbie and Britney, the only "girls" to make it into the top 25 in the annual "MSN Search Trends Barometer" are outnumbered three to one by male celebrities, including Justin Timberlake, David Beckham, the victorious Rugby World cup squad, Robbie Williams, Eminem, The Manchester United team and even Harry Potter!
MSN Search – which is used by over 15.8 million people in the UK – provides an instant barometer of trends across the nation with hundreds of thousands of search terms entered every day.
And this year"s results show that the girls have a lot of catching up to do. While 12 male heartthrobs feature in MSN Search"s top 50, only seven females make the grade. Even the hottest female stars of 2003 are struggling with Kylie only making it to the no.45 spot, J Lo coming in at no. 48, Madonna at no. 85 and newly launched solo star Rachel Stevens only scraping in at no.97!
