Last week"s launch of the new Dashboard for Xbox 360 owners included a few new options for watching streaming video. Today, yet another new service has now gone live for Xbox 360 and Xbox Live users. Microsoft has announced today that the MSN Video app is now available to download via the Xbox 360"s new app user interface.
Like all the other video apps for the new Dashboard, the MSN Video application has the Metro-style tile interface that can be navigated by an Xbox 360 controller or by the optional Kinect motion gesture device. You can also search for new MSN videos via voice chat with the Kinect device combined with Microsoft"s Bing service.
MSN Video features content from a number of sources including news reports from the MSNBC cable TV network, sports reports and programming from Fox Sports, and even viral videos from the (we assume) appropriately named StupidVideos.
Microsoft will be adding even more video streaming services to Xbox Live over the next few weeks for territories around the world. On Monday, Xbox Live beta testers were able to check out an early version of the Xbox 360"s upcoming YouTube video app. The final version should be released for all Xbox 360 owners later in December.
