In the coming weeks, MySpace is preparing to launch an integrated news service with self-aggregating content and social bookmarking. MySpace members will be able to post the stories on their profiles, discuss, promote, and submit their own written content to be seen and ranked by other MySpace users. If you consider that MySpace has been owned by news mogul Rupert Murdoch since 2005 and gets 230,000 new registered users a day, arguably more than most Internet news sites, the move isn"t much of a shocker. As well, MySpace purchased news aggregator service Newroo last year and it seems the technology will now be put to use for feeding stories to the site throughout the day. There is definitely a lot of money to be made from the decision. My question to you: how many tech-savvy Neowinians are interested in a Digg-like MySpace news system?
