HTC made its mark by bringing out the One X well before Samsung and LG drew their line of quad-core smartphones. Now it seems HTC has something better planned for it future line-up. What we are dealing with here is one smartphone and one unknown device.
The people over at GLBenchmark have published reports of a new device, the PM63100, codenamed "Evltare UL". This smartphone boasts a quad-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz (may be Nvidia Tegra 3, if rumours are to be believed) and a 720p display of unknown size. This device seems to be headed for AT&T with either Ice Cream Sandwich or Jelly Bean on board when it hits the stores.
The other device which we are interested in boasts a 1080p display. This definitely seems to be headed towards the "phablet" line-up of devices, a combination of a phone and a tablet like the Galaxy Note. What makes us think this is the performance report from GLBenchmark .
Clocked at 1.5GHz, the HTC6435 beat the PM63100 on the GLBenchmark Egypt Offscreen 720p test by about 60 percent. The PM63100 scored 8214 frames where as the HTC6435 scored an impressive 13685 frames. On the specs sheet it includes a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor with Adreno 320 GPU. The full-HD display has a resolution of 1794 x 1080, probably with onscreen navigation buttons.
