With a plethora of games being unveiled at Sony"s PlayStation 5 showcase today, 2K Sports" and Visual Concepts" latest entry to the NBA 2K series was revealed in the form of an in-engine trailer as well. Boasting "next gen graphics, load times, and power", NBA 2K21 is headed for a Fall 2020 release on the PS5.
Not much has been unveiled regarding the title as of yet, with focus residing on a digital Zion Williamson, who plays for American basketball side, New Orleans Pelicans. Through a series of close-up shots, it seems apparent that the graphical power in use is being highlighted, with exceedingly detailed sweat beads running across the player"s face.
Co-founder and President of Visual Concepts Greg Thomas appeared in a separate video released by NBA 2K to note how the development team had been working hard from home to ensure that the title becomes "the best basketball game ever". The loading time for NBA 2K21 was also shown in the same video, with the title being visualized as taking a mere two seconds to load up.
Further trailers down the line will presumably show off more of the visual fidelity and actual gameplay for the latest entry to 2K"s basketball series.
