Nvidia"s Lite Hash Rate (LHR) limiter has finally been fully cracked for Linux for the first time. The feat has been achieved by NebuTech"s latest NBMiner software, version 0.41. This means Linux users too can now mine Ethereum on their Nvidia LHR graphics cards. And those on Windows also need not worry as NBMiner has always worked with Windows.
This news follows the recent announcement by NiceHash that it had managed 100% unlock of LHR limiter, but that was only great news for miners running Windows systems. So now, Linux miners will also have a reason to rejoice.
Here is the full release notes for NBMiner v0.41:
feature: ethash 100% LHR unlocker added, for both Windows & Linux.
- Run nbminer with admin priviledge to get 100% LHR unlock
- Tested and verified on drivers: 512.15 for Windows, 510.60 for Linux.
- Other driver versions may have some compatibility issue.
- Previous LHR mode are removed.
NebuTech recommends using the recommended drivers (listed above) in case problems arise. Also, the developer has acknowledged an issue with AMD GPUs that will likely be fixed with future releases.
