A report in Korea"s Digital Chosun Ilbo said that as of Wednesday, authorities were investigating allegations that seven former Korean NCsoft employees played a role in selling sensitive software code to a major Japanese game company.
The ex-NCsoft employees reportedly left the company in February this year and allegedly showed the software to the Japanese company during a job interview. Technology may have been copied during the course of the meet-up, police said.
The employees also may have leaked Lineage III data as far back as September 2006. The report claimed that NCsoft has experienced an internal management problem as of late.
When contacted by Next-Gen, an NCsoft North America rep confirmed that there is an "ongoing investigation," and in effect couldn"t comment further on the matter.
