Netatmo's new security camera can identify people, dogs and cars

Netatmo"s "Presence" is an impressive new home security camera unveiled as this year"s CES. Boasting the ability to distinguish specific objects, from people to cars and even pets, it aims stand out in the growing home automation sector.

The camera works by using a learning algorithm. After detecting an object, Presence will identify if it is a threat and send a notification to the home owner. Its accompanying app is compatible with iOS, Android, and can also be accessed via the web.

The camera itself includes infra-red technology for low-light conditions and a "smart" floodlight, to scare off threats or to help the home owner at night. Needing only to be connected to power, the camera connects to the internet via Wi-Fi and primarily records to a microSD card.
