Netflix released an update for its Xbox 360 app on Friday, bringing a new interface and the ability to use the streaming service"s recently released profiles feature.
The console app"s new interface places it more in line with the interface used in the company"s app for Windows 8 and Windows RT devices, featuring a black background in lieu of the previous dark red. Users can now switch between profiles by either pressing the "B" or "back" button; previously, pressing either button would only allow users to select between a regular movie streaming queue and the service"s "Just for Kids" area. The update comes a year after the children"s section was first added to the Xbox 360 app.
The Netflix app for Microsoft"s Xbox 360 now features a darker interface.
Though the children"s section no longer appears as a separate tile option, users can still select it from the profiles screen by pressing the "X" button. Additionally, Netflix subscribers can monitor and change settings in account profiles to limit content. Through the profiles section on the service"s website, users can mark a box that relegates profiles to content appropriate for children younger than 12.
Neowin has contacted Netflix inquiring if any other changes were made to the program; this post will be updated if a response is received.
