After more than a year of speculation, public hints, denials and 180-degree turns, Netflix is finally bringing offline playback to all of its users. As of today, those using the latest version of the app on an Android or iOS device can save shows for offline viewing.
Those looking to take advantage of the new features – say for viewing programs while on a plane, or without destroying your mobile data plan – can simply update to the latest version of the app and start binging offline.
Right now, only some shows benefit from this functionality, though the company claims there are plenty that fit that list with many more coming soon. For example, Orange is the New Black, Narcos, and The Crown are available for downloading today.
The new feature is available for all subscription plans on phones and tablets running on Android and iOS.
