A customer survey is doing the rounds, asking customers whether they would pay for HBO shows on Netflix. Despite the fact that the CEO of Netflix, Reed Hastings, has repeatedly said that they will not charge for pay-per-view shows, it seems to be back on the table of possibility.
The supposed price for HBO content is $9.99 a month, which will add to the already high amount (around 700,000) of customers paying $1 a month for HD content. It has been mentioned that $9.99 a month extra is a bit high for HBO content, but it is unclear whether the price is fixed or open to discussion.
The HBO content will bring popular shows such as the New Zealand originating show Flight of the Conchords, as well as Little Britain and The Sopranos.
Netflix has recently opened up streaming to Xbox 360 consoles, so is this potential extra content going to bring in even more customers, or will the pricing put off some people?
