Asus may be officially out of the Windows RT business, but the PC maker is still planning to release new Windows 8 products later this fall. Today, a website outed a previously unannounced 10.1-inch touchscreen notebook from Asus, the Vivobook X102BA, that"s reported due to launch in late September
The Sweclockers.com site has the info on the notebook, which Asus has yet to officially announce. Here are the rather modest hardware specs for the laptop:
- Display: 10.1-inch touchscreen with 1366x768 resolution
- Processor: AMD A4-1200 at 1.0 Ghz
- Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 8180
- Memory: 2 GB or 4 GB of RAM
- Storage: 320 GB or 500 GB
The story also claims that Asus will throw in a free copy of Microsoft Office Home and Student with the purchase of the Vivobook X102BA. Unfortunately, there"s no word on battery life for this notebook. The report claims that the starting price for the laptop is 330 euros, or about $440.
It"s more than likely that the major OEMs will be revealing quite a few new PC models in the next couple of months as they, and Microsoft, get ready for the official launch of Windows 8.1 on Oct. 18.
