Earlier this year at CES, Brydge announced its latest keyboards for Microsoft"s Surface PCs. The firm is introducing the Brydge 12.3 Pro+ - which is made for Surface Pro 4 through 7 - and the Bridge 10.5 Go+ - which is designed for both generations of the Surface Go. There"s also the W-Touch and W-Type, which is a wireless trackpad and keyboard, respectively.
The Pro and Go models are part of Microsoft"s Designed for Surface program, and according to Brydge, they"re the first third-party accessories to do so.
"The Designed for Surface program was created with the goal to drive high quality partner products that enhance the user’s experience with the Surface range," said Patrick Mendenall, Director of the Designed for Surface program. "Brydge increases the reach of the Surface Pro and Go by offering customers the choice to use the device in a way that fits best with their lifestyle. These products are a reflection of the great things that happen when we work collaboratively to design something natively for Surface devices and is a true testament to why we have this program."
The keyboard essentially turns your Surface tablet into a laptop. It uses clamps to attach to the device, and it has a tighter hinge. More importantly, it has a lot of weight in the base, so it"s lappable. The keyboard actually connects to the PC via Bluetooth, rather than using the connector that"s built into the tablet.
The Brydge 12.3 Pro+ is coming the week of August 31 for $149.99, while the 10.5 Go+ will arrive the week of September 7 for $139.99. The W-Touch and W-Type are also arriving the week of August 31, and those will cost $99.99 and $59.99, respectively. They"re all be available for purchase on August 17.
