New Fujitsu Windows 8 tablet is a water friendly device

Panasonic has already announced plans to launch a water resistant Windows 8 tablet later this year and now Fujitsu has announced its own new Windows 8 tablet this week, the Arrows Tab Q582/F, which the PC maker claims is also highly water and dust resistant.

The PC maker"s press release says the Arrows Tab Q582/F is a 10.1 tablet which Fujitsu says can "function normally after being immersed in room-temperature tap water to a depth of 1.5 meters for 30 minutes."

Fujitsu says it will keep working even after getting hit "with water from a nozzle with a diameter of 6.3 mm at a rate of 12.5 liters per minute from a distance of approximately 3 meters for a period of at least 3 minutes." It is also only 9.9mm in thickness which the company says makes it the world"s slimmest Windows 8 water-resistant tablet.

Under the hood, the Arrows Tab Q582/F has an Intel Atom Z2760 processor, along with 2 GB of RAM and a 64 GB SSD, along with a batter life of about 10 hours. The tablet will go on sale in mid-March in Japan but there"s no word on when it might made it to the US.
