There"s a clearer picture unfolding in front of us for the upcoming "Halo 5: Guardians." That picture seems to be one where the Master Chief, hero of humanity who has lost his most trusted companion, is being hunted by an elite squad of Spartans. The hype for "Halo 5" is building, and that build continues today with the announcement of a new trailer and preorder bonus content.
"Halo 5" has been getting a lot of promotional trailers lately, the most recent being "The Unofficial Story" and the in-game opening cinematic. Today, fans of Halo can check out a new promo trailer, titled "Launch Gameplay Trailer", which clocks in at nearly three minutes long. The purpose of this trailer is to expand more on what we"ve seen in the past, which includes the hunting of Spartan 117 (Master Chief) and perhaps the capture of Dr. Catherine Halsey - creator of the Spartan program.
With still two weeks to launch, "Halo 5" has already gone gold (physical disk creation stage). The game is said to require 60GB of storage available for install. That is quite the install requirements given most games require closer to 40GB. Though the game could be that big, it my be that part of that hefty install package is devoted to a new Halo animated series - "Halo: The Fall of Reach".
"The Fall of Reach," as the devoted will be aware of, was the first-ever Halo novel. Written by Eric Nylund, the book acts as a prequel to the Halo: Combat Evolved video game, detailing the origins of the SPARTAN II program that made the Master Chief what he is today. For longtime players of the Halo franchise, the events of "The Fall of Reach" coincide with those that are playable in the Xbox 360 title "Halo: Reach."
"Halo: The Fall of Reach" is currently only available through the "Halo 5" deluxe edition preorder, available from the Xbox One dashboard or through this link.
