There was a time when the Lumia range of Windows phones was a very broad range of devices, from 43x on the low end to 9xx on the high end, and then there were the 1020, 1320, and 1520. The numbering system was confusing, but that"s what you get when a company releases so many phones.
And the successors in the 7xx and 8xx range were to be the Lumia 750 and 850, as one would expect, but then Microsoft decided to slim down its Lumia line and canceled both of them. Their codenames were Guilin and Honjo, respectively, but photos of the Lumia 850 have shown up on numerous occasions.
The 750, on the other hand, isn"t seen nearly as much. Reputable leakster Evan Blass tweeted an image of the device today, showing off a red polycarbonate body:
The device was slated to have the following specs:
Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 MSMM8916 4xCortex-A53 cores @ 1.2GHz
Adreno 306 GPU
1GB RAM / 8GB + microSD
GSM HSPA
5″ Screen 720×1280 GG3
8MP 3264×2448, Zeiss optics, autofocus, LED flash 1080p@30fps + 5MP ffc
Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, hotspot
BT v4.0, A2DP, LE, aptX
2650mAh battery
GPS (A-GPS GLONASSL) Accelerometer, proximity, luminosity, LED notification
The Lumia 850 was also slated to use Qualcomm"s Snapdragon 410 chipset, which would have likely changed the Windows 10 Mobile landscape, as the only devices to ship with the 410 were Windows Phone 8.1 devices, such as the LG Lancet. The chipset isn"t even listed as supported for a new Windows 10 Mobile device, only one that can be upgraded to the OS.
Sadly, this is just a quick look at what might have been had Microsoft decided to stick it out with smartphone hardware, but it did not. The 650 was to be the last Lumia-branded handset from the company, and that launched back in February.
