Last year at IFA 2017, Sony added another mid-range device to its Xperia XA series. The firm is said to be updating its XA and L-series with three new devices, namely XA2, XA2 Ultra, and L2. These smartphones are rumored to launch at CES next week, or at MWC in February. A recent leak has shed more light on the specs and design of the upcoming devices.
Both the XA2 and XA2 Ultra will feature Qualcomm"s Snapdragon 630 instead of MediaTek SoCs, as seen in previous iterations. The biggest sibling of the two, XA2 Ultra, will offer 4GB RAM paired with 64GB of internal storage. The device will, reportedly, have dual 15MP front-facing cameras, which will be capable of capturing videos at 4K, whereas the rear camera will remain the same as the previous iteration. The smartphone will also retain the same display configuration as that of the XA1 Ultra.
The XA2, however, will have an updated 5.2-inch full HD display, and will offer 3GB RAM coupled with 32GB of internal storage. The handset will also sport a refreshed 21MP rear camera, with the capable of 4K video capture, and a 7MP front-facing shooter. Both units will come with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
There are not many details known about the L2, however. The smartphone will have a similar 5.2-inch 720p display as found on the older L1, and may come preloaded with Android 7.0 Nougat. All three devices have similar designs to their predecessors, with 16:9 displays and chunky bezels. Sony"s upcoming premium smartphones are expected to reportedly follow the newest trends.
