It was back in October 2016 that Rockstar Games confirmed to the world that it was releasing Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2). Since that time, the firm has teased more material but has also delayed the game a couple times, where it is now slated to arrive in October of this year. While we still have some time to wait before its retail release, it looks like new information about the game is making its way online, and some of the insights are quite interesting.
After obtaining documents during the summer, Trusted Reviews has now come out to share some of its findings regarding RDR2, after confirming the accuracy of the information using recently released materials by Rockstar Games. With the popularity of battle royale games like PlayerUnknown"s Battlegrounds and Fortnite, it appears that RDR2 could offer something similar when it is released. The obtained documents also detail a mode called "Revive and Survive" which would be a deathmatch mode that will pit two teams against each other, with players having a limited amount of time to revive hurt players. A multiplayer mode called "Money Bag" could also make an appearance, requiring teams to collect money found at a central location and returning it each team"s respective bases.
Those that want to just roam about will be able to do so, as RDR2 will also have an open world environment online much like what can be experienced in Grand Theft Auto Online. There will be improvements to the world, like NPCs that will populate the landscape that can set up shops during the day, but will also take them down when night falls. Rockstar will borrow its apartments concept from Grand Theft Auto Online and replace it in RDR2 with tents that will be owned by players and can be upgraded and customized. Within the standard game itself, players will be able to immerse themselves in the life of the wild west by not only riding horses, shooting, but there will be other elements like gambling, fishing, and gold mining and more.
The obtained document also apparently discusses being able to play Red Dead Redemption 2 in a first-person mode, and also mentions a "dead eye" feature that will allow players to better track prey in the wild when hunting. As you might expect, the environments will be pretty detailed, and players will even be able to take trains to travel quickly to and from certain destinations. The train cars themselves will also be "full explorable". As a final note, Rockstar Games is also working on a companion app to the game. It will blend in social elements and will also feature a poker mini-game and should be released when the RDR2 launches.
While this only a small sample of what is to come, hopefully, there won"t be any more delays when it comes to the game"s release.
