Electronic Arts has already announced it will release a new game in its Need For Speed franchise sometime by the end of the year. Now it looks like the title of that game has been confirmed. IGN reports that in its schedule of events for E3 2012, Twitch TV said it would be demoing, among others games, Need For Speed: Most Wanted.
While a game with the same name was released in 2005, it"s highly unlikely that Twitch TV would be demoing a game at E3 2012 that was released seven years ago. Therefore, it"s more likely that this is a sequel to the older street racing-themed game.
EA itself has yet to confirm a title for the next Need For Speed game but the publisher is almost certain to do so on Monday, June 4th when it holds its pre-E3 2012 press conference in Los Angeles. The publisher will also be demoing and revealing other games at the press event, including Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Crysis 3 and its various EA Sports game titles.
EA will hopefully offer up more information about two other games that have been announced in the past year. One is Overstrike, the action game from Resistance creators Insomniac Games that EA revealed at E3 2011 but hasn"t been seen or heard from since. The other is Command and Conquer Generals 2, which was first shown in December but has since gone into hiding.
