Is the world ready for yet another Star Wars game? LucasArts certainly hopes so. Next week, the publisher plans to reveal its next game based on the beloved movie franchise as part of the pre-E3 2012 coverage on Spike. In a press release, the cable TV channel, which is also the current exclusive TV network that can run Star Wars movies in the US, announced that the next Star Wars game will be revealed as part of an episode on GTTV, which will air at 1 am Eastern time on Friday (10 pm Pacific Time on Thursday).
GTTV host Geoff Keighley is quoted as saying:
I am blown away by both the caliber of the team on this project and their bold vision for this new ‘Star Wars’ title. I can’t wait to introduce our viewers to this game and show off the footage that left my jaw on the floor when I first saw it.
The most recent Star Wars game was Kinect Star Wars, an exclusive for the Xbox 360 system that came out in April. The game itself got mediocre reviews (including our own) but it was the number two best selling retail game in April in the US, as recorded by the NPD Group.
