We gave the Nokia Lumia 925 a good review a few weeks ago, and part of the reason was the impressive 8.7 megapixel PureView camera, which our reviewer Andy Weir called "the best all-round camera experience of any smartphone I’ve tested." This week, Nokia released a new video that gives us a fresh new look at the Lumia 925"s camera hardware.
The video, uploaded to YouTube, gives us an exploded view of the Windows Phone 8 smartphone, with the main focus on the camera hardware. It shows the Lumia 925 has six lenses made by ZEISS. Nokia claims that most smartphone cameras have just four or five lenses.
The video also gives a better idea of how the optical image stabilization hardware works inside the smartphone. Basically, the camera hardware moves inside the smartphone as its owner takes pictures or videos and by doing so, it will eliminate much of the shakiness that other smartphone videos have.
While the Nokia Lumia 925 may be one of the newest smartphones from the Finland company, next week should see Nokia officially reveal its next big Windows Phone 8 device; the rumored Lumia 1020/902 that will have a 41 megapixel PureView camera.
