Last week, Dell revealed the XPS 18, an upcoming Windows 8-based touchscreen all-in-one PC that can also be used as a really large tablet. This week, Dell showed the XPS in action in a brief but interesting new video on its YouTube channel.
The clip has a disclaimer on the end that states the product shown in the video will look a little different than the actual XPS 18. Even with that small caveat, the video shows the basics of the XPS 18. While it has its own built in kickstand to set the screen upright, the PC can also be used with an optional larger stand for people who want to use it for more old fashioned desktop PC chores.
Most of the video puts the emphasis on the portability of the 18.4 inch XPS 18, showing being used flat on a tablet or as a stand alone tablet. The price for the PC will start at $899, which will get you an Intel dual-core Pentium ULV processor inside, along with 4 GB of RAM and 320 GB of storage. However, we suspect many people will want to upgrade the Dell XPS 18 to an Intel Core i7 processor, and maybe throw in an 512 GB SDD and up to 8 GB of RAM. It"s due for release sometime in April.
