New video shows off the OnePlus 5's audio recording capabilities compared to the OnePlus 3

Over the past couple of months, there has been a lot of information in regards to the OnePlus coming through both official and unofficial channels. This week we finally got to see what the device will look like and, while we are still a couple weeks away from the reveal, it appears that new information about the device has been disseminated via the company"s own forums.

OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei showed off a bit more of the new device with a demonstration of the handset"s audio capabilities. According to Pei, his firm listened to user feedback about the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T and found that users wanted the ability to record higher quality audio in noisy environments like a concert. Utilizing this information, the team brought these enhancements to the OnePlus 5, which can be heard in the clip above.

According to Pei"s post on the OnePlus forum:

"We brought in some new hardware and assigned a group of engineers to optimize the audio system of the OnePlus 5 to capture much clearer sound. As a result, the OnePlus 5’s improved microphone performs significantly better in loud environments."

The OnePlus 5 will be revealed to the world on June 20. The firm will hold events around the world with locations in New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and Helsinki.
