New Windows Phone 8 TV ad gets "Abominable"

Over the past couple of weeks, Microsoft has released several Windows Phone 8 commercials featuring real world celebrities such as Jessica Alba, Gwen Stephani and, most recently, Cam Newton. Today, Microsoft uploaded yet another Windows Phone 8 TV ad online, although it features a different kind of celebrity.

It"s the version of the Abominable Snowman that first appeared in the stop motion TV classic Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer. The TV special was first shown in 1964 and has been staple of the holiday TV season ever since.

The new TV ad has our favorite snow monster (who prefers to be called Bumble, apparently) participating in a speed dating event near the North Pole (yes, you read that correctly – it looks like Bumble is looking for love after all these years). He is using his Windows Phone 8 device to get advice from Rudolph, Mrs. Claus and others on how to act in front of his potential dates via the Live Tiles feature.

Despite the best efforts from his friends, it looks like Bumble is having a hard time finding someone to hook up with, although the end of the commercial shows there is still hope for the scary, but still lovable, snowman. Perhaps we will get a follow up commercial that will show Bumble on an actual date. That should be interesting.
