Halo fans who have yet to buy an Xbox One now have a compelling reason to do so: Microsoft is now offering "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" for free as part of a $350 bundle with its newest gaming console.
According to a post on the company"s official Xbox Wire website, "The Master Chief Collection" will be available for free with the Xbox One bundle in the U.S. and "most regions where Xbox One is available." The game will come as a digital download to consumers purchasing the bundle, though no additional details were provided.
"Halo: The Master Chief Collection" bundles the four games in the franchise"s main storyline – "Halo: Combat Evolved" (Anniversary Edition), "Halo 2" (Anniversary Edition), "Halo 3" and "Halo 4." Additionally, Microsoft plans to offer "Halo 3: ODST" as an expansion for the collection at an unspecified date. Xbox One users who played the game from Nov. 11 to Dec. 19 will get the expansion for free, though it"s not yet clear how much it will cost for other gamers.
