Newly leaked images of Xiaomi's Mi 7 could give a clue about what's coming

There have been lots of rumors over the past few months about the Xiaomi Mi 7. Like many of its competitors, it appears that Xiaomi could be adopting the notch for its upcoming handset if newly leaked images provide further evidence, but it could also be giving us a look at an unexpected surprise as well.

This isn"t the first time we have seen the alleged front display of the phone, but this time, things look a bit more convincing. From the provided images, you can see that the handset will be running MIUI 9.5, much like the recently released Mi MIX 2S, which could indicate that the Mi 7 could arrive with Android 8.1 Oreo.

The rear of the handset looks quite stunning with its glossy finish. There is also a dual camera sensor in the top left corner, along with a flash. What can be noticed though by taking a full look at the back and the front, is that there is no obvious indication of a fingerprinte reader. While there were early rumors that the Mi 7 could arrive with an in-display fingerprint reader, those hopes were dashed. But more recently, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun might have confirmed that it could be coming. Naturally, we will just have to wait and see.
