It"s already quite a given fact that most of the smartphones, tablets and other gadgets we use in our everyday lives run out of juice pretty quickly, which leads to us charging them at least once a day to keep them running. Despite this, Sony has just unveiled a new mid-range smartphone that can allegedly run for two days, the Sony Xperia E4, following the certification of the flagship Xperia Z4 in Japan.
The device packs a 2,300 mAh battery, that can go for as long as two days under an "active use," at least according to Sony. It also features a battery saving operation feature, dubbed as "Ultra Stamina" that aims to lengthen the E4"s battery life even more, by making the phone run only on its core functions.
Tony McNulty, the vice president at Value Category Business Management at Sony Mobile Communications, offered his thoughts about the company"s newly unveiled device:
With Xperia E4, we wanted to offer people some of the premium Sony features they have come to expect – with unparalleled ease of use – at a highly-competitive price point,”
With a simple set-up, great screen and unrivaled 2 day battery life we’ve created an on-the-go entertainment device that will keep on going, wherever you are.”
Specifications of the Sony Xperia E4 include:
- Android 5 Lollipop
- 5" qHD (960x540) IPS display
- 1.3 GHz quad-core Mediatek processor
- 1 GB RAM
- 8 GB internal storage (expandable via microSD)
- 5-megapixel rear camera with flash
- 2-megapixel front camera
- Dual SIM capable
The phone is available in black and white, and comes with customizable UI themes and matching cover accessories.
The press release did not state which countries will get the device first.
