Today video game publisher Activision laid all doubts to rest by confirming the next-gen launch of its famous reboot, Tony Hawk"s Pro Skater 1 and 2. Furthermore, a Nintendo Switch release for the skating game has also been revealed. The wildly popular remaster was announced for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC back in May 2020, followed by a September 2020 release.
The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S launch for Tony Hawk"s Pro Skater 1 and 2 has been scheduled for March 26, 2021, almost exactly one month from today. Meanwhile, the Switch variant is yet to receive a release date, all we know is that it will happen sometime later this year.
As is to be expected, the next-gen version of the sports game will feature upgraded graphics and enhanced features such as better resolution, spatial audio, and high-fidelity atmospherics. The PS5 and Xbox Series X variants of the game will run at native 4K and 60fps. On the other hand, the Xbox Series S version will render a 1440p resolution and upscale it to 4K.
Pre-orders for Tony Hawk"s Pro Skater 1 and 2 on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are now open and can be placed on the game"s official website. As usual, those who already own the Digital Deluxe Edition on the PS4 or Xbox One will be able to upgrade to the next-gen version for free upon launch, except for players situated in Japan.
A special upgrade path for the digital edition called the Cross-Gen Deluxe Bundle will also be available for next-gen consoles. It will be priced at $10 and include added content such as access to the secret skater The Ripper, retro gear for Create-A-Skater, and retro skins for Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, and Rodney Mullen.
