After announcing earlier in May that Minecraft on the Xbox 360 has sold over 12 million total copies (combining both digital and disc versions) since its launch in 2012, Microsoft has announced that the game will be getting some extra content from another major Xbox franchise, Halo.
The Xbox Wire website has revealed that the Halo mash-up pack for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition will be released on Wednesday via Xbox Live for $3.99. It will contain a number of Halo-themed textures, user interfaces and craftable items that players of the sandbox game can use in their own Minecraft worlds.
In addition, the pack will have 31 music tracks collected from the various games in the Halo universe, along with 40 character skins based on figures in the sci-fi first person shooter series. Finally, the pack will come with some pre-built Minecraft worlds that are based on well known maps and locations in the Halo series, such as Blood Gulch, the Silent Cartographer and more.
Microsoft recently announced that the Xbox One version of Minecraft will be released in August for $19.99 and that Xbox 360 Minecraft players can get the game for just $4.99.
