A leaked image, rising in popularity on both Twitter and Reddit, details a potential name for the upcoming Xbox. The new console, codenamed "Durango", is set for a May 21st reveal by Microsoft.
"Xbox Infinity" is what the image suggests, and corroborates with numerous rumors suggesting the same name. A previously leaked image purporting to be an official leak, however, had no mention of the "Infinity" name.
The previously leaked image may tie in with rumors that Microsoft would simply drop the "360" from the name and simply call its new console "Xbox", following the lead of Apple whose third-gen iPad was simply called "iPad" instead of "iPad 3".
"Infinity", however, makes sense as a name, if the taglines were to be along the lines of "Infinite Entertainment". The company have been able to capitalise on the fact customers use their consoles as home entertainment systems as well as gaming machines, with many users replacing DVD players altogether in favour of just a console.
Will we see more Windows Phone and Live Tile integration with Xbox Infinity? Will we see all of the rumored innards and will the console require a constant internet connection to work? It all remains to be seen. For now, all know for sure is all questions will be answered on May 21st at Microsoft"s Campus, and streamed live to the world.
