Last month, we reported on a company that wanted to build a smartphone that would get better with age. Today, Nextbit has finally unveiled their cloud-first smartphone, "Robin".
Robin runs a customized version of Android OS with integrated cloud support. By utilizing the cloud, Robin will be able to expand the capabilities of the phone with intelligent decisions. According to Nextbit:
Robin intelligently adapts to your storage needs, and automatically optimizes the space on your phone when it sees you need it. By learning the apps you use and the space you need, Robin offloads the stuff you don’t use to the cloud. So you can have everything you want (in the cloud), and just what you need (on your phone).
Although the phone won"t get into the hands of backers until January 2016 at the earliest, the handset does tout some robust specifications for the time being.
