It has been a few months since the launch of the Nintendo Switch and to say that it is popular would be an understatement. While the firm tries to keep pace with demand, customers continue to purchase the console at an impressive rate. According to newly released numbers, Nintendo had the best-selling console in the US for the month of April.
In figures gathered by The NPD Group, Nintendo sold 280,000 units of the Switch in April. This comes as no surprise considering that the unit sold more than 900,000 units in the US for the month of March, and has quickly become the firm"s fastest selling console to date. Along with impressive console sales, Nintendo scored another victory moving 550,000 copies of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Although the console does not have many first-party offerings in its current lineup, it has maintained a steady flow of new games to its eShop thanks to indie developers. But with the summer fast approaching, the Switch should gain some more momentum thanks to titles like ARMS and Splatoon 2, along with many others that were revealed during Nintendo"s Direct broadcast. With E3 less than a month away, it will be interesting to see what the firm has in store for the public.
