Nintendo schedules its Direct at E3 stream for June 11

We"re about one month away from this year E3, and companies have begun sharing plans for their presence at the conference - some of which include not showing up. Nintendo, as usual, is delivering its news through a Direct presentation, which is a video stream rather than a live event.

Today, the company announced that its Nintendo Direct event for this year"s E3 will take place on June 11, at 9AM Pacific Time. Naturally, a bulk of the news will be focused on upcoming titles for the Switch hybrid console. The company will also be holding Splatoon 2 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournaments at the event starting on June 8.

Nintendo didn"t reveal any specifics of what games are set to be shown off, but the firm does have a lot of titles in its lineup for this year, and many of them are still relatively short on details. Super Mario Maker 2 is scheduled for release just a couple of weeks after the event, on June 28, but many details are still up in the air. Other titles, such as Animal Crossing, Luigi"s Mansion 3, Astral Chain, The Legend of Zelda: Link"s Awakening, and Pokémon Sword and Shield, are also slated for later this year, with details also being fairly scarce.

With that being said, Nintendo has had a habit of making initial surprise announcements during its Direct presentation and then revealing more bits of information through other media. It"s certainly possible that the E3 presentation will focus largely on all-new games.
