It feels like only yesterday when we reported that Nintendo had moved over 2.7 million Switch consoles since its launch in March. According to its latest financial report, Nintendo has revealed how well the handheld is doing worldwide; and beyond that, how well its game sales are doing to date.
According to its latest Financial Report that was posted today, the company revealed that since the launch of the Nintendo Switch in March of this year, it has sold 4.7 million units. This is up from the number it announced last month at its annual shareholder meeting.
The company also revealed the sales numbers for some of its biggest game releases during this time. Zelda: Breath of the Wild sold a reported 3.92 million units, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe sold 3.54 million units and the arena "boxing" title ARMS sold 1.18 million units since launch. In total, Nintendo has sold over 13.6 million games on the console.
The company also noted that it expects to hit around 10 million console sales by the end of the financial year. Nintendo has also started taking pre-orders for its upcoming SNES Classic Edition, which will give gamers access to classics like Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Mario World, and others. The console should launch later this year.
